How Moksha™ Began
Games were part of my family life long before yoga was. They gave us a way to step outside our usual roles, get a little ridiculous, and meet each other differently. Play made room for presence, connection, and discovering things about ourselves and each other that might not have surfaced otherwise.
Years later, yoga gave me another way into many of the same questions. My practice, teaching, and study kept returning me to curiosity, embodiment, relationship, and the possibility of meeting ourselves and each other with a little more awareness and choice. Somewhere along the way, those two worlds began to come together.
Moksha grew from a simple question: What if some of the deeper ideas of yoga could be explored through play?
The idea lived with me for nearly a decade, taking shape through practice, teaching, conversations, experiments, and feedback from friends and teachers. Eventually, the right people came together to turn the idea into an actual game.

Meet the Team

James Kapicka · Creator
James Kapicka is the creator of Moksha, a somatic educator, Yin Yoga teacher-trainer, and Thai Massage practitioner with more than 15 years of experience exploring the intersection of embodiment, awareness, play, and relationship. He has led more than 500 students through Yin Yoga immersions and teacher trainings across the U.S.
Moksha brings together James’s longtime love of games with his study and practice of yoga, creating a way to explore meaningful questions without requiring the experience to become heavy or overly serious.
Tiffany Gomes · Graphic Design + Web Development
Tiffany Gomes, aka CreatTiff, helped translate the world of Moksha into its visual form through the game’s graphic design and original web development. The color, characters, line work, and playful visual language throughout Moksha grew through that collaboration.
DTO · Creative + Marketing
DTO brought his perspective as a creative visionary, marketer, and yogi musician to the development and launch of Moksha, helping shape how the game moved from an idea into something that could reach people beyond the original circle around it.
DTO continues his work as an award-winning music producer through DTO Music, leads the creative marketing agency Everything Is Perfect, and co-owns Embody Costa Rica, where he hosts retreats and supports facilitators in bringing their own experiences to life.
Honoring the Roots
Moksha takes its name and much of its inspiration from yoga and Indian philosophical traditions. The game draws from years of study and practice while recognizing that a board game cannot define or represent the depth, diversity, or cultural context of those traditions.
The intention is to invite curiosity, learning, and meaningful engagement while honoring the traditions from which these teachings emerge. Moksha is one playful doorway into a much larger body of practice, philosophy, culture, and history.
Still curious?
Moksha was made to be played, questioned, adapted, laughed through, and shared around a table.
