5Q Interview
October 2022
In this conversation with my friend DTO, who was part of the Moksha team and helped shape the game’s creative development and launch, we begin with how I found yoga, what drew me into teaching, and the approach that grew out of years of practice and working with people. From there, we move into the story behind Moksha, The Yoga Board Game, and the ideas at its heart: making yoga philosophy more accessible and experiential, learning through play, softening the pressure to get it right, and creating opportunities for laughter, discovery, and connection.
Moksha, The Yoga Board Game
Moksha grew from a desire to make yoga philosophy something people could experience together, not simply read about. Rather than create another explanatory text, I wanted to build a way of learning through play, humor, creativity, personal sharing, and direct experience.
Inspired by the classical paths of yoga, the game moves through drawing, pantomime, knowledge, reflection, and experiential practice. The intention was to create a playful doorway into yoga beyond asana, with enough ease and curiosity for some of the pressure to perform or get it right to soften.
At its heart, Moksha is a liberating game of laughter, discovery, and connection.
